LEARNING DAILY
Romans 8:38-39, For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities nor powers, nor things, nor present nor things to
come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
Forgive me if I have used these verses before. They just seem an appropriate way to end a
discussion on GRACE. If anyone fails in
their spiritual life it will not be from a lack of God’s GRACE nor from
external force or overwhelming adversity; it be due to their own neglect to
remain in the Lord Jesus Christ. Back up
to verse 31 in Romans 8. Paul asks, “If
God is for us, who can be against us?”
God is for us! He is for
you! Viruses and other disease are
against you. The corruption and
deception which is all around is against you.
Everything that causes you to fear (real or imagined) is against you. People, even those close to you, may be
against you. But God is for you!
If God is for you, you do not need to fear the present nor the future.
God provides for your needs; you do not
need to worry about what tomorrow will bring.
God has it under His control – even the things that cause you to
suffer. Every day the devil accuses you of
every wrong thought, every word spoken, everything you do and do not do, every
slip you make and accuses you of your past.
Never forget you have an Advocate before the Father who has paid the
debt of everything you are being accused of.
You are declared “Not Guilty” because of your belief in Jesus Christ’s
death on the cross! To answer Paul’s
question in verse 35 - nothing can separate you from the love of Christ!
You and I live in the perilous times Timothy wrote about. We are living in the time Paul wrote about in
Romans 1 where God has given people over to the “lusts of their hearts’. Wickedness is all around us. But God tells us nothing can separate us from
His love. Go back and read the verses above.
Then read them again! Be
encouraged by this! That’s God’s
GRACE! Be faithful to Him; live your
life your life to honor Him. The people
who do will not face the terrible times that The Revelation tells us
about. The true Church will be gone when
the trumpet sounds to call His Church to meet Him in the clouds; they will not
have to go through the seven-year period known as the Tribulation.
Let me end with Max Lucado’s about the love Jesus has for each of
you. “You wonder how long My love for
you will last? Find your answer on a splintered
cross, on a craggy hill. That’s Me you
see up there, your Maker, your God, nail-stabbed and bleeding. Covered in spit and sin-soaked. That’s your sin I’m feeling. That’s your death I’m dying. That’s your resurrection I’m living. That’s how much I love you!”
