Psalm 37:23-24, The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord.  He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by His hand. (NLT)

 

Godly is defined as being devout or sincere living and obedience to God’s commands.  It is to be reverent of His character and teachings; this is then seen in one’s actions. A godly person would be committed to following God’s truth as explained in the Bible. 1 Timothy 6:11 instructs to flee all sorts of evil in the world and “pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.” As Christians we are to chase after these qualities which in turn deepen our knowledge of God.  He is always present when we go through this thing called life.  Through the good and the bad circumstances of life, His provision and protection is always with us. The Palmist states that the steps of the godly are ordered.  That means there is nothing that can cause those who have given their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ to stray so far away from Him that His grace cannot extend them and forgive them “for the Lord holds them by their hand.”
