LEARNING DAILY

Matthew 24:8 All these things are the beginning of sorrows.

It seems appropriate to address what is happening in this country and around the world. These are just some of the thoughts going through my head. Jesus said “these things” would come to deceive many, there would be wars and rumors of wars, nation would rise against nation, famines, pestilence, and earthquakes in various places.

Today we have covid and the various strains, the world has seen wars throughout the twentieth century and now Russia has invaded Ukraine. Famine is a problem world-wide and earthquakes in places we did not dream of. I have already addressed the lies we are being told by our leaders, including that the Russian leader did not want to face our president because he was the only one that went toe to toe with him. If you did not see the headlines, China is watching the United States response to Ukraine in order to decide what they will do in Taiwan. And then there is John Kerry who does not want the Russia-Ukraine situation to interfere with his pet project with climate change. Inflation is running out of control and projected to get much worse, and there are those promoting digital money in order to get rid of the American money system. Of course, we need to be sure we are watching the Canadian situation very closely and realize the rights of Canadians were taken away with the stroke of a pen. Could it happen here?

“Stay ready so you do not have to get ready” are the words of Dr. Ed Newton; I have adopted them to use when I sense the need. You are probably wondering if I believe these are the end times. Well, sure I do. Paul thought he was living in the time Jesus would take His church in the rapture. To me that means we are living in the end of the end days. Jesus said the things we are seeing had to happen; they were the beginning of sorrows. Stay ready! Jesus could come after His Church at any time. Do not fear; stand firm in your faith and knowledge that He is on His throne and is not surprised by anything that is happening. He allows all thing to happen for His will to be accomplished. Perhaps things will get a little difficult. If they do, we should be prepared! He has told us about the days we are living in so that we are prepared.

How do we prepare? Perhaps you need to buy a few extra canned goods or some peanut butter and crackers or whatever you think you need. This is not a fear thing. With inflation skyrocketing and replenishing shelves appears to be a problem, it makes sense to me to get some extra stuff.

Let me be clear (I’ve always wanted to say that), from what I have read in God’s Word, our trust, our faith is not to be in military capabilities but in God! That’s what this blog is about; to get us to place our trust in Him alone. He has promised to never leave or forsake us and to take care of us. He said it and I believe Him and that’s enough for me! “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” Jesus (from John 14:1).
