Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith and hope go together.  Through faith I believe that God will do everything He says He will do in His Word.  The Bible sates that when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, He came to dwell within me; I accepted Him through faith.  Faith in Christ helps me to see and understand that which I cannot see with my physical eye.  Hebrews 11 demonstrates that faith in Christ helps me to stay strong in my faith and trust God and His Word in all circumstances.

Let me try to summarize what faith does as shown in Hebrews 11.  Faith helps me to understand that God created the world out of nothing; there was no Big Bang and Darwin got it wrong (v. 3).  Faith leads me to righteousness (v. 4), seek God (v. 6), gives me confidence to believe God’s Word can be believed (v. 7,11), and helps me to be obedient even when I do not understand (v. 8).  Through faith, I order my life centered on heaven which I have seen from the bible only (v. 13-16, 39).  Through faith, I persevere through the trials of this life (v. 17-19), bless my daughters and grandchildren (v. 21), refuse the pleasures of sin (v. 25), endure persecution (v. 27, 35-38), and refuse to go back to the country from which I came – the world (v. 15-16).

Hebrews 11:6 gives us the reason we must have faith.  “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”  I believe in the existence in a holy, loving God who cares for me.  I believe that He will reward me when I earnestly seek Him; the greatest reward is finding Him and enjoying His presence forever.

Yesterday, it was pointed out that Enoch pleased God.  He walked in faith. His intimacy with God resulted in God taking Him to heaven before he died.  That is what walking in faith is about.  If there is ever a time for you and I to walk with God in this way it is now.  There is evil at the root of what we are experiencing in the world today.  The hearts of people are evil and it is certainly being shown in their actions.  It certainly seems that the conditions leading to the rapture of the church explained in the Bible (and in previous pages of LEARNING DAILY – check out the archives) are upon us.  I cannot overemphasize the importance for each of us to have the testimony of Enoch in these days.  His testimony (his faith) pleased God and He rewarded him by taking him to heaven before he died; what we call the rapture.

You have to examine yourself, through prayer, to see if your life is being lived the way God desires, in the way that pleases Him.  if you find anything that does not, you will need to decide what you are going to do with it.  It seems pretty clear that it needs to be eliminated.
