Genesis 6:5-6, Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of his heart was only evil continually.  And the Lord was sorry that He made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

 

Romans 1:28, And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do things which are not fitting.

 

I am more than upset and grieved as I write this morning!  I have tried to research to find out what is true and not true; I am troubled even more because I found conflicting information.  To even consider such legislation is more than disturbing.  Did California pass legislation, in the name of equality, allowing an adult to have sex with a child?  I pray this did not happen!  It is time to consider some things.

 

Have you ever stopped to consider how corrupt mankind was that caused God to be sorry He had made them?  How evil was the intent of man’s heart in the days of Noah?  According to Genesis 6:2, 11, the character of human sin was sexual lust and violence.  Not much has changed as human depravity is still seen through the unrestrained expression of lust and violence.  When mankind seeks to honor themselves rather than God, the door opens to sexual impurity and shameful lusts.  If there is no repentance, Romans 1:28 humanity is given over to a depraved mind. 

 

 “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen (Romans 1:24-25).  This means that God abandoned these persons to intensified lusts.  Are we not seeing this today?  Am I wrong to believe that God has given mankind, today, over to a debased or depraved mind and they have become continually preoccupied with evil and the pleasures of sexual sin? 

 

I have to ask why God allows this.  The only comfort I find is in Romans 2: 2, 4.  He allows sin and its consequences to accelerate as part of His judgment upon them and to make them realize their need for salvation.

 

My suggestion to all of us comes from the words of a close brother in the Lord, “It is time to get your house in order!”    The words I have written are not easy to write.  I would much rather write that which would make you feel good and be encouraged because all is well.  However, all is not well!  Christians know the story of Noah; God knew the hearts of man and the flood came.  I pray the story out of California is false.  But, the fact that the thought is even there is horrifying.  You as a Christian need to be praying against this and that God would reveal truth to all involved in the sexual perversion of people.  We, as Christians, cannot even give our consent to such activities (Romans 1:32)! 

 

Without repentance, God will and does give people over to their sinfulness.  It is clear that this is happening today.  The question is how much longer God will allow it to continue.  The Christian response is to repent of their sin and walk with God in accordance with His Word and His direction.
