LEARNING DAILY

Revelation1:3, Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

“Why do we need to study this stuff?  Shouldn’t you be teaching us about how to live the life Jesus wants us to live instead?”  Those questions were asked from a senior student in the last Bible class I taught.  He had been a student in this Christian school since he was little.  I was caught off guard and I am sure I did not have a good answer.   You can probably guess those questions have remained in my mind since then. I wish I could go back to that moment in time; I have had the answer for a long time!  First, I am not sure what he missed in all the Bible classes he had sat through up to the day he asked the questions.  And second, reading and studying the book of The Revelation brings blessing and should keep those who read and understand it on the “narrow road” that leads to God’s kingdom and eternal life.

All that has been written about One World Religion, Government, and Economy will be fulfilled!  It is going to happen regardless of what anyone says! “The time is near!”  If John, the Revelator, thought the time must be near when he wrote what he had received, how much closer do you think it is?  The preparation for this One World “Everything” is being done right now– all that is now happening are “just the beginning of sorrows” an indication of what is to come (as explained in the book of The Revelation).  [I am taking a quick side trip – read what you can on the Great Reset or the Digital Reset!  You need to decide what this is about!]

Most people stay away from reading and studying The Revelation because of the imagery found in it, thinking the prophecy just too difficult to understand.  John was told that those who “read and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it” will be blessed.  Believers are to keep the commands of The Revelation!  “The prophecy is practical, giving moral instructions and not just prophecy about the future” (Life in the Spirit Study Bible).  The spiritual principles found in this prophecy are to be learned and applied to our lives and draw each of us to a closer walk with Jesus Christ!  You get a blessing for just reading The Revelation; the greatest blessing comes when you obey what it teaches.

Jesus said in Luke 11:28, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”  I have found that to be true.  Studying The Revelation has strengthened me to strive to do everything I can to stay on the “narrow way”, to live by what the Bible says.  Staying in tune to the Holy Spirit and knowing what is to come is a tremendous help to me.

So perhaps we will Learn Daily by looking at The Revelation as the Holy Spirit leads me.  As many times as I have read and studied what Bible scholars have written about The Revelation, I look forward to seeing what I can learn.  Are you ready to be blessed?  Will you join me?
