LEARNING DAILY

We were gone for a few days and I did not get the blog posted Monday and Tuesday.

Revelation 6:4, “Another horse, fiery red, went out.  And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another, and there was given to him a great sword.”

Revelation 6:5b-6, So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oils and wine.”

Revelation 6:8, So I looked, and behold, a pale horse.  And the name on him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed him.  And power was given them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by beasts of the earth.

The second seal is opened by the Lamb and peace is removed from the earth.  The peace that gave false security is ended and the Antichrist who comes conquering, and to conquer begins his worldwide conquest.  It is going to be a time of horrible slaughter as God allows His wrath upon the earth to occur after the Antichrist gained a bloodless and peaceful takeover.  This is a reminder of the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:6, 10, and 21.  This is a global war and that suggests that the Antichrist has at his disposal a global force or military to achieve a global success.

Impossible to happen?  I see the Speaker of the House uses the National Guard to guard the capital so people can no longer get in; which means people cannot visit their congressmen (pretty convenient, right!?).  NATO troops are deployed around the world and our troops are used to help other forces around the world fight evil. It seems like an easy transition to a world military might be fairly easy to achieve.

The third seal is opened by the Lamb and a rider on a black horse holding a scale in his hand is seen.  Black in the Bible is often used to refer to famine; famine often comes as a consequence of war.  So, the worldwide famine this horse and rider bring would naturally follow the red horse and rider.  Basic necessities of life will be scarce and scarcity causes prices to go high.  Hunger will spread throughout the world.  Billy Crone, in Volume Three of his series The Final Countdown states,” 1/3 of the world is well-fed, 1/3 is underfed, and 1/3 is starving to death right now”.  The problem is due to large areas of land are becoming deserts each year.  We don’t get it in this country; if we have to stand or sit in a car line waiting on fast food, we get bent all out of shape.  But remember this famine is worldwide – that includes the United States.  Can’t happen here?  Wait!  What affect has higher gas prices had on the price of food and other items.  What affect has a shortage of over-the-road drivers had on products.  Have you tried buying a sheet of plywood lately? Notice oil and wine are not hurt.  These products are used in making medicines; I guess that could be good news.

The fourth horseman of the Apocalypse is the deadliest of all.  The pale horse and its rider named Death symbolize a terrible intensification of war, famine, death plagues, disease and evil beasts.  I wonder what John saw in this vision.  My imagination gets carried away when I wonder about technological advancements in military ability to make war.  I can understand all John saw until he sees death by wild beasts.   I guess I have always read this verse too fast and missed this before.  It seems only logical that when famine of this magnitude occurs not only people get hungry but animals do as well.  All this results in one fourth of the world’s population will be killed.

I don’t want to be on earth when all this happens.  I don’t plan to be!  God help me and all readers of this blog to hunger and thirst for Your righteousness and walk the narrow way that leads to Your kingdom and eternal life.
