LEARNING DAILY
Beginning with this page of the blog, I am sending it to each person I
believe is getting the blog directly sent to them by the blog email
service. I have been notified that it
will no longer be sending the blog out.
If you are getting the blog two times, just ignore one of them; I am not
certain who is getting the blog through the email service. If you do not want to receive it, send me an
email and I will take you off my list.
Also, you might see it in a different format. If you want to look at previous pages, click
on a month and you should see those pages archived from that month. You will find this easier to respond to me
regarding the blog; all you have to do is reply.
Psalm 33:12, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people
He has chosen as His own inheritance.
I saw this verse several times yesterday and it seemed appropriate to
write on it this morning. Yesterday the
people of the United States celebrated the day the Declaration of Independence
was passed – July 4, 1776. To many it represented
a holiday. To others it was a celebration
of the freedoms we have because of brave men and women who stood against the oppressive
rule of England. But in this day of
celebration there are those who say they are ashamed to be an American. There is division in this country that is
being fanned by hatred and the desire to destroy everything this country had
stood for since independence was declared and gained long ago. Christian principles, and God Himself, are under
attack because of those deceived by the enemy of all Believers. All that is seen today is a preview of what
is to come when Believers are taken out of this world.
As a nation led by Godly influence the United States of America has
seen tremendous blessings. Yes, there
have been those periods of time that have caused issues we still face
today. Yet, the opportunities that we
have to develop the skills and gifts God has given to us are still very much
before us. We still have the opportunity
to worship God openly and to follow the dreams that He has given us. The United States of America has been, and
still is, a blessed nation because it has been led by Godly principles.
Yet, I can only wonder how much longer this blessing will continue. I fear decisions are being made at the highest
levels of government that God does not accept.
The lifestyles that are being flaunted and accepted is hated by
God. The acceptance of abortion is
something God has always been against. You know the ungodliness that is before us in
this country; the temptations to sin are many and constantly before us. I
wonder if God has not already given people “who profess to be wise, but
became fools over to uncleanliness”.
And I wonder when the “wrath of God will be revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men”.
My encouragement for each of you today is to not be deceived. Be in God’s word every day. Know what He has to say about living on the
narrow way that leads to His kingdom and eternal life. We have to stop walking on the edge of the
narrow path, with one foot on it and the other foot off of it. When you get off it and fail, ask for His
forgiveness and get back on it.
Father, Thank You for the blessings You have given this nation. You have blessed us beyond what we deserve. You
have placed us in this great nation for Your purposes. Direct each of us to know what Your purpose
for each of us is, how we can best bring honor and glory to you. You have desired that we live in unity, yet,
we live divided. You have desired that
we be directed by You, yet, we have chosen to walk by our own thoughts. You have given to us everything we have, in
abundance, yet, we have not been satisfied.
You have only asked that we place our faith in You, yet, we have placed
our faith in what has become an ungodly government. You have desired we be satisfied with what You
have given us, yet, the desire for more and more has consumed us. We are a needy people, yet, few recognize
it. Open our spiritual eyes and ears
that Your people will see and hear from You in the days ahead. I pray in the precious and powerful name of
the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen
