Philippians 2:9-11, Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the
name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of heaven and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.
Paul
was writing as he looked into the future time when every person on earth and in
heaven will declare Jesus Christ as Lord! Christmas is a time when all who
believe Jesus was born should take a moment to remember, to bow and confess
that He is truly “Immanuel,
God with us”! I wonder what heaven saw as they witnessed the birth
of the Son of God! It was a Holy Night and that is certainly my favorite
Christmas song.
(Verse
1)
O
Holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It
is the night of our Savior’s birth.
Long
lay the world in sin and error pining.
‘Til
He appears and the soul felt its worth.
A
thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For
yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall
on your knees; O hear the angel voices!
O
night divine, O night when Christ was born.
O
night, O Holy night, O night divine!
(Verse
2)
Led
by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With
glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So
led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here
come the Wise Men from Orient land.
The
King of kings lay thus in a lowly manger;
In
all our trials born to be our friend.
He
knows our need, to our weaknesses is no stranger,
Behold
your King; before Him lowly bend!
Behold
your King; before Him lowly bend!
(Verse
3)
Truly
he taught us to love one another;
His
law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains
shall He break, for the slave is our brother;
And
I His name, all oppression shall cease.
Sweet
hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we’
Let
all within us praise His holy name.
Christ
is the Lord! O praise His name forever,
His
power and glory evermore proclaim.
O
Night divine, O night, O night divine.
From
my family to you and your family we pray your Christmas is full of joy and
peace as we celebrate together the birth of our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.
May He be the very center of your celebration this season. After all, He is the reason for the season!
