Revelation 12:10-11, And I heard a loud voice in heaven,
saying, "Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and
the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been
thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have
conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for
they loved not their lives even unto death.
These verses focuse on those Believers who are on earth during
the second half of the tribulation. All Believers overcome Satan by their
testimony that Jesus Christ has saved them. 1 John 5:4-5, “For everyone who
has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has
overcome the world — our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the
one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” I believe every Believer
needs to understand what is happening every day in their life.
In Luke 10:18, Jesus said He saw Satan fall from heaven like
lightning. In Revelation 12:10, John “heard a loud voice say the accuser of
the brethren, who accuses them day and night before our God.” I will not
claim to understand this, but Satan continues to have restricted access to
heaven, to God, even though “he has fallen like lightning from heaven.” Satan
accuses every Believer of their wrongdoing – the purity of heaven is not at
risk! Again, I do not know if this is continual, or if he is there because God
summons him. What I want you as a Believer to focus on is your ability to overcome
all accusations of Satan, your enemy,“by
the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony.”
Romans 8:33-34 tells us that no one can bring a charge
against God’s elect, Believers, because Christ is there as their High Priest,
their Advocate, their defense lawyer, who intercedes for them. This is to give
you tremendous hope in this world we live in where Satan, evil and injustice
seem out of control. The struggles for Believers are very real and the way to
overcome is knowing that the one who is continually accusing you, the one who is
continually roaming to see who he can devour only has temporary power, he is
ultimately going to be defeated.
Every Believer has a testimony. Others may be able to argue
theology and doctrine; no one can argue with what Jesus Christ has done to save
you and change you! A biblical testimony is your declaration of faith journey,
your salvation and your walk on the narrow way. It is how you react to
situations that come your way – both joyful and not so joyful. Your testimony
deals with the lifechanging encounters with the Lord Jesus Christ. As a
Believer, others are watching to see how you act, both spoken and unspoken, to each
situation that comes your way.
One way to overcome the accusations of the enemy is to
acknowledge the power of God and His salvation. Stand firm in His victory by
recognizing Jesus has already defeated him and by that victory you, as a believer,
are cleansed and have found favor with God. Also, know you have authority by
your testimony. Declare the truth of God’s Word and His promises in the face of
the enemy’s attempt to challenge and undermine your faith. And remember your
identity is not who the accuser says you are; you are defined by your
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1, “There is therefore no condemnation to those
who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according
to the Spirit.”
