LEARNING DAILY
Proverbs 1:28-32, They will call on me, but I will not answer; they
will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not
choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of my counsel and despised my
every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat
the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay
them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
There it is! This is what I
have been trying to say we are in this country for the past five to ten pages
of the blog. Joseph Farah wrote, “In a
nutshell, the book of Proverbs is about righteous behavior versus unrighteous
behavior, a clean heart versus an unclean heart.” The Life in the Spirit Study Bible,
states, “The book of Proverbs emphasizes that God has given absolute standards
of right and wrong in His Word; to disregard them will bring tragic results to
our lives.”
Galatians 6:7-9 state, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for
whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
For he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he
who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do
good to all especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
God is not blind to what is happening in this nation and in the world
today. He hears what is being said. He sees what is being signed into law by the
man in the Oval office and is approved by those surrounding him. God knows who are His. And, He knows those who claim to be His
followers but are “sowing” to please their sinful nature; they are guilty of
mocking and despising God. There must be
no deception that these people will “reap corruption”. That is God’s Word – not mine!
My point is be careful about what you spend time doing. Be careful about what you allow your eyes to
see and read. I cannot spend time sowing
to the fleshly desires and expect to reap holiness and righteousness. I want to be righteous. Doing so depends on what and where I
sow. I ask you to once again look at and
consider the times in our nation. Reread
the verses above in Proverbs. Now, let
me ask some question. Is knowledge about
God loved or hated today? Are people
choosing knowledge of God or do they hate it?
Are people seeking God’s counsel before doing anything? Consider
Executive Orders being signed today by the President as you decide on your
answer. Is God’s rebuke (scolding)
despised or accepted? I suggest that the
answers to these questions are all negative.
Thus, Solomon says, “they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and
be filled to the full with their own fancies.
For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency
of fools will destroy them.”
I suggest to you that we might be at the point where God is giving us
what we desire. I have included
Christians in this because Matthew 5:45 tells us, “… for He makes His sun
rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the
unjust.” Think of the number of
people who placed the democratic candidates and their ungodly agenda into
office. Fools will continue to reject
wisdom; the final step will be destruction.
That’s an awful price to pay for rejecting the wisdom of God.
The last verse of Proverbs 1 gives Christians hope we long for. “But whoever listens to me will dwell
safely. And will be secure, without fear of evil.” God continues to work on me daily to be
obedient to “walking in truth”.
