LEARNING DAILY

Psalm 37:12-15, The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.  The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming.  The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct, their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

My intent over the last pages of this blog has been for you to consider the days we are living in.  Each of us should examine our own life, ask for forgiveness for anything that does not line up with the Word of God.  Anything that takes off the narrow way that Jesus spoke about needs to be changed – repented of and no longer be a part of our lives.  We are living in serious times, times when Satan is doing everything he can to destroy our Christian walk.

There are those who are mocking holiness and tearing down everything that speaks of or represents God and His kingdom.  Do you think that people today fear God?  The answer is no.

hardhearted.  When there is no fear of the Lord, evil seems to guide and destruction seems to be the goal.  David said, “The wicked plots against the just”.  Do you agree with me that this is happening in the world around us?

But God!  But God sees all of it.  His responds by laughing at those who plot evil because judgment is coming!  When people mock or ridicule God’s mercy judgment comes.  When is a great question; America probably should have been judged long ago. Our responsibility is to draw close to Him and walk with Him guiding us on the narrow way to eternity in His kingdom.  That is the great hope we have with Jesus Christ.  Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus gives an invitation to all of us in this time, “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  By coming to Jesus, He will free you from the burdens you face, give you rest, peace, and His Holy Spirit to lead you through the trials and the burdens you carry will be carried with His help.

David Wilkerson wrote (remember he died in 2011), “Yet when men make a mockery of that great mercy which is Christ, judgment is sure.  It is only the mercy of the Lord that delays judgment.  And right now America is benefiting from that mercy.  Incredibly, our country is in a race with the rest of the world to remove God and Christ from society.”  Think of how far this country has progressed in trying to remove God from our society since he made this statement.  Yet, God continues to pour out His mercy upon us.  Why? Romans 2:4 gives us the answer, “ the goodness of God leads you to repentance”.

So, what do we do with the present condition of America?  We certainly have to be aware of the awful corruption, sin and the desire of many - not only those in political power.  But we have hope knowing that God sees all and is in full control.  Walk closely with Him!
